Biblical Water Baptism
WATER BAPTISM by “FULL IMMERSION” is the 2nd act of obedience commanded by God after REPENTANCE. The 3rd act of obedience is to get Baptized in the Holy Spirit. The 4th act is to walk in Obedience and Holiness toward God 24/7, turning away from all sin every day of life until death.
Does Water Baptism SAVE you? YES, it does! Just by itself? No! Faith in Christ's "shed" blood and his resurrection from the dead WORKING TOGETHER with OBEDIENCE to be Water Baptized and then Holy Spirit Baptized are essential for salvation. Please read the scripture below:
1Peter 3:21 , "Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,"
The word Baptism in Greek is “Baptizo,” which means to “Dip” or “Immerse” or “Wash” by full immersion. This is never to be confused with the Greek “Rantizo,” which means to “Sprinkle,” “Splatter,” “Squirt” or “Spray.” These words are NEVER interchangeable in the New Testament. The pagan Roman Catholic religion and its offshoots use “Rantizo” or sprinkling WRONGLY in their baptismal ceremonies and rituals.
Baptism in WATER by FULL IMMERSION in the name of Jesus Christ is the ONLY acceptable practice before God! The following scriptures are proof of this:
Acts 2:38, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 8:12, “But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.”
Acts 8:16, “For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 10:48, “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
Acts 19:5, “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 22:16, “And now why tarriest you? arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”
Romans 6:3, “Know you not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
1 Corinthians 1:13, “Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” [Implied] [no, in the name of Christ.]
Galatians 3:27, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

Water Baptism represents or is “symbolic” of a number of principles. The first one according to Titus 3:5 declares, “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,” The word Washing here in Greek is, “Loutrou” which equals a bath or “Baptism.” So Baptism is a “symbolic” washing “Clean” of the Old Life (Sins) into purity in God’s sight. Also in Acts 22:16, “And now why tarriest you? arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”
The second principle Baptism represents is a “Death” to the old life as declared in Romans 6:4, which says, “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” So Baptism is symbolic of a watery “Grave” from, which we rise up out of, in “newness” of Life before God.
The third principle Baptism represents is an appeal for A GOOD CONSCIENCE declared in 1 Peter 3:20-22, which says, “who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.” Obedience to God clears our “Conscience” of the “Guilt” and “Shame” we carried for the Sins committed by us in the past.
This is why Water Baptism is so important.
In God’s sight we are:
1) Symbolically WASHED CLEAN!
2) Our OLD life is put to DEATH; REPLACED with a NEW LIFE!
3) Our CONSCIENCE is made CLEAR or RENEWED!
AFTER Water Baptism, God SEES us as CLEAN, FREE OF SIN and GUILT-FREE!

** WARNING: Water Baptism is a time of great REJOICING and CELEBRATION as new BELIEVERS are born into the Kingdom Of God BUT God’s MERCY and LOVE are NEVER to be taken lightly.
DEATH to the OLD LIFE means exactly that to God. We are to REMAIN DEAD to the Old Life and NEVER, EVER return to it! To do so would be the same as, TRAMPLING the BLOOD OF CHRIST underfoot and to put Christ’s death and resurrection to public shame as the scriptures warn in Hebrews 10:29, which declares, “How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?”
God’s SAVING GRACE is never to be taken for granted or FORGOTTEN!
