The Alchemical "Great Work"
What is it? Simply put, it is the Babylonian religion received from Cain that denies Christ and the truth of God's Word and instead replaces the Bible truth of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ with a false Christ and pagan religion based on "works." The adherents of this gnostic pagan religion seek a metamorphosis of the mind and body in which a union of male and female gender are wrought physically and together with the "illumination" of the mind through occult knowledge a "transformation," which in their darkened understanding, brings, "salvation."

Definition:
Manichaeism - a religion founded by Manes in the third century BC ; a synthesis of Zoroastrian dualism between light and dark and Babylonian folkloreand Buddhist ethics and superficial elements of Christianity; spread widely in the Roman Empire but had largely died out by AD 1000.
